Moving

Monday, March 10th, 2008

This has been a wonderful outlet for me to share with friends and family.  This website has been difficult to manage and leaves little room for creativity.  Though there are still some kinks to work out, all my new posting will be done at my new blog

Thanks for stopping by!

Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him.

Resurrection Eggs

resurrectioneggs.jpg

I can’t remember how many years ago, my oldest was about 9 years old, so that would be 13 years ago, . . . a long time ago, while reading God’s World magazine, there was an article about making your own Resurrection Eggs.  We did it and shared it with our children’s Sunday School class - it was a hit.  They loved the surprise of each egg - and listened closely to the story behind each item.  Fast forward a few years and I found this set at the Family Bible Bookstore 1/2 price after Easter.  We go through it every year and it is starting to show its age.  I am a visual person - so stuff like this clicks with me!

St. Patrick Lapbook

This was a combination of a Hands of a Child’s lapbook and an Enchanted Learning book.  We always learn so much doing a lapbook and it is a fun review every year.

Thank God for dirty dishes,
They have a tale to tell.
While other folks go hungry,
We’re eating very well.
With home and health and happiness,
We surely shouldn’t fuss.
For by this stack of evidence,
God’s been good to us.

New look

Thrift store shopping is one of my favorite things to do.  Occasionally, the trip pays off in a big way.  My dh suffered with a horrible case of Meningitis over the Christmas holidays this past year and when he was showing some improvement my older dd and I went out for a quick shopping trip to the thrift store and found an American Girl doll, Josefina for $5.  She was in very good condition except for her hair.  It is difficult to maintain because it is textured, so the previous owner decided to cut it off, and not a very good job of it either.  After much Internet studying on the subject, we removed the AG wig, purchased a new one and put it on!  Shoo. There were some anxious moments - but my 10 year old dd is very very happy with her new “Josie”.  So is mom.  :) The wig cost 7.50 plus shipping - hard to beat that price for a whole new look!  She is one of a kind!
